This website is dedicated to Paul Beattie's love of nature, wildlife and many forms of expression in his recreations, from Paul's highly detailed Fine Art to his wonderful photography.
Paul has taught himself in the main mediums of Acrylic, oils and watercolour. Pencil, pens, inks and mixed media are also used.
Experience
Paul Beattie has been producing his art for many years as a fully self taught and educated artist.
Paul had a connection with art from a very young age in primary school learning to draw basic scenes, characters and aerial war scenes. Paul also enjoyed working with copper and inks creating fantasy style art and woodwork carvings.
Throughout his teenage years Paul continued to created many works in the forms of pencil and pen drawings as a love and hobby. This all helped to deepen his knowledge and understanding. Studying other artists works was an important part of Paul's self education.
At the age of about 18 Paul saw works by the artist Robert Bateman, a Canadian wildlife artist. In awe of his works Paul decided that was his future in art or what he would like to attain in his ability as an artist.
The next large part of study for Paul was to learn to paint realistic landscapes. This took many years to accomplish being totaly self taught and disciplined. This level of ability was reached in the late 90's and Paul continued with many different forms and mediums of landscape art.
Over the past few years Paul has been creating wildlife fine art to a very high standard encompassing them in their natural enviroments. What was wanted has been succesfully achieved.
Over a five year period Mr Beattie shared his love of art with various groups and establishments around North Wales teaching Adults the Elderly and Children how to draw and paint in the medium of Acrylics.
An Award was secured to make this entrepeneurship possible.
This was considered a great success by all who took part, the establishments and also The Arts Council of Wales.
Paul has now dedicated his life to creating artwork in many mediums and subjects.
Mr Beattie offers private tuition, commissions, demonstrations and group classes.
